ARTICLE ABOUT PEACE COMMITTEE OF ARMENIA IN THE "FORUM"

"Forum" is an international journal devoted to peacekeeping all over the world. In 'Forum' you can find a lot of interesting information about cultures of the different countries, events organized for the peace-making purposes.

Armenian Peace Fund was always lead by such outstanding figures as poet N.Zaryan, and artist H.Esayan. Since 1977 the president of Armenian Peace Fund was famous composer E.Mirzoyan.
Armenian Peace Fund always got support and assistance from Russian Peace Fund especially from president A. Karpov. Today some changes occurred in Fund's life, Armenian Peace Fund was renamed into Peace Committee of Armenia according to Republic of Armenia’s legislation. Nowadays Doctor of Political Sciences G.Petrosyan is leading Peace Committee of Armenia, and honorable president title was awarded to E.Mirzojan. Due to this changes A.Karpov visited Armenia and during his visit together with the new chairman of Committee G.Petrosyan met president of Armenia S.A.Sarkisyan who welcomed the Committee's activities and expressed readiness to promote its future endeavors.

The main goal of Peace Committee of Armenia is strengthening of peace, friendship and the consent between people, development of principles of mercy and humanism, protection of human rights, development of the international cooperation, democracy and progress. All mentioned directions are important for Committee, but still a priority field remains the assistance to peace strengthening, friendship and the consent between people. Nagorno Karabakh conflict’s peaceful settlement and the establishment of Armenian-Turkish relations take a special place in this process. The main sources of Fund means are charitable donations of citizens, companies and public organizations.

Peace Committee of Armenia is greatly interested in the partner’s activities, welcomes and joins all the accepted decisions and resolutions.
